Hylotelephium spectabile (formerly Sedum spectabile) form spherical mounds of fleshy paddle-shaped foliage upon which showy flower heads appear in late summer or early fall, foliage and flower color depending on the cultivar. Hylotelephiums are avidly browsed by deer, so preventive measures are advised if deer regularly visit your garden. Hylotelephiums will self-sow, so you may get your own hybrids to use or give away. We have several cultivars of this adaptable plant in our garden.
‘Brilliant’ sports bright pink flowers on dark green foliage in August-September
‘Meteor’ has shockingly bright magenta flowers on dark green foliage in August-September
